Marilyn Clark, Immigration Consultant and International Recruitment Specialist in Canada

ABOUT ME

MEET MARILYN CLARK, FROM ISLANDER TO ENTREPRENEUR

My name is Marilyn Clark, and I am the owner of Port to Port Immigration Services Inc.

I grew up an Islander in a very remote part of Canada. To go anywhere, we needed to take a five-hour ferry just to connect to a highway. Despite my logistical challenges, I knew at an early age that I was destined to see the world. As a young adult, I would come home just long enough to prepare for my next destination.

Coming from a fishing community, my first career was in the seafood industry. Later, as a lobbyist for this sector, I learned that advising on immigration was its own profession. I took the course over a couple of years and started Port to Port Immigration in 2018.

When the pandemic put a stop to global travel, I rented my first office to recruit essential workers for seafood production.  Today, we have an office filled with nine wonderful people and we recruit for industries with skill shortages.

As an entrepreneur, I can confidently state that employing new immigrants has been key to our growth. I am so fortunate to be able to fulfill people's dreams whilst contributing to the growth of this business and this inspiring country.
