Formwork Carpenter
A formwork carpenter constructs the wooden formwork that acts as a mold for poured concrete.
JOB DUTIES
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements.
Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials.
Supervise apprentices and other construction workers.
May prepare cost estimates for clients.
REQUIRMENTS
Completion of secondary school is usually required.
Completion of an apprenticeship program or equivalent experience in the trade.
Some experience may be required.
